Modelling dough recipe

(enough for one child)

The dough must not be eaten as it contains too much salt.

1 cup of white flour

4 tablespoons of table salt

6 tablespoons of water

1 teaspoon of cooking oil

Food colouring

A small polythene bag and bag-tie

A mixing bowl and a spoon

Mix the flour and salt together and gradually add the water, stirring until the mixture is smooth.

Knead the dough for about 5 mins.

Add a few drops of food colouring to the dough and continue to knead for at least another 5 mins.

Form the dough into a ball, put it in a polythene bag and seal the end with a bag-tie.

The dough is best if it is left to stand in the fridge or some other cool place for 30 – 60 mins before

using.

If you have a range of food colourings, then different coloured doughs can be made.
