MiniZone 2-year cycle
The essential Bible stories for the age group are built into a two-year cycle, divided into themes that cover six sessions. It covers essential Bible stories for the age group. It is important to remember that, even if you have young children in your group for more than two years, or if they have heard the stories you are telling them in other settings, they will delight to hear familiar stories repeated – and will often relate them to you. But even with repeated stories, they will still draw fresh learning from the experience.
Of course Christmas and Easter are celebrated every year, and so we have provided two five-session modules for each festival.
You can now choose which themes you want to teach at any time.
The MiniZone two-year cycle links to the KidZone and Y-Zone four-year cycle as indicated below. The TotZone books also relate to the MiniZone cycle providing simple session ideas for younger children that are also appropriate for toddler and playgroup settings.
Currently stocks of printed materials for all the 12-session units (each containing two 6-session themes) are available. As product goes out of stock we will replace the printed material with downloads for 6-session themes.
Below we set out the whole cycle for MiniZone in the order we suggest you teach it in - but feel free to set your own sequence for the sessions.
In addition to the cycle, MiniZone materials have been produced that complement the KidZone holiday club materials. They can be used if you have younger children attending the holiday club or if you want to provide activities for the young children of your holiday club leaders. But these material also stand alone as 5-session units that can be incorporated into your regular teaching programme. These units are listed at the end the cycle below.
