Victoria Beech

Victoria, author of Our Family GodVenture, has 20 years experience of working with children and loves finding fun, creative ways of sharing God with them. She works in publishing, including running GodVenture, making products and running events to help families meet God together at home.

Colin Bennett

Colin is Vice-Principal (Development) and Director of Training for the Children and Schools and Community and Family Studies Courses at Moorlands College. He became a Christian whilst training as a Youth and Community Worker at Westhill College in Birmingham. Following his training, he worked in Birmingham and Sheffield on a variety of high-profile inner-city youth and community work projects. Colin now lives in more of a rural setting with its own unique challenge. He is a regular writer and speaks on family, youth and community issues. When he is not busy with College life, he enjoys various sports and, along with his wife Yvonne and the whole family, is a keen football supporter.

Renita Boyle

Renita has been described as ‘a remarkable storyteller- a powerball of imagination and inventiveness.’ She is as passionate about training as telling and uses a variety of methods to appeal across the learning styles: repetition, rhythm and rhyme; action and audience participation; parachutes and puppets; music, masks and hats. She can make it rain and play the bagpipe with her nose. Her publications include Parable Fun for Little Ones, Parachute Fun for Everyone and My Storytime Bible (all with Barnabas).

Pauline Burdett

Pauline is the South West, Church and Community Development Worker and Scripture Union Family Ministry Consultant. Her ministry includes working with churches and other agencies, particularly in the area of discipling young people and helping families to grow their faith together, but also in consultation, training, preaching and support. She loves walking on the beach in the windy weather and gardening in the sun.

Jane Butcher 
Jane is part of BRF’s Barnabas children’s ministry team. Having originally trained as a teacher, she moved into church based ministry working for large churches in the UK and USA. Her current role also involves developing the Faith in the Home ministry within BRF.

Lorne Campbell

Alan Charter

Terry Clutterham

Frances Duffy

Frances has been Head, for over 18 yrs, of the Speech and Language Department at a Special School for pupils with learning and communication disorders. She has worked extensively with children and teenagers with a wide range of learning and behaviour difficulties. She is also a specialist in dyslexia and its associated difficulties and has personal knowledge of this as a mother of 4 dyslexic boys. She has led different Sunday School and youth groups at her own church over the years. Her expertise and interest in these various areas led her to co-found Mustard Seed Games which produce card games and resources on Bible themes that encourage interactive and fun ways to learn, that are not dependent on educational skills.

Dale & Jewell Erickson

Dale and Jewell have been career youth workers for over forty years. In 1995, they founded Growing Through, a church resource ministry that trains volunteers to lead peer support groups for adults, children and teens that are facing life’s enigmas. Together, they have written the peer support group curriculum, Pot of Gold for primary age children and Rays of Light for teens. Participating in the peer support group this curriculum covers helps young people stand strong in facing problems at home and at school.

Paul Fenton
Paul is the Principal and CEO of Oasis College of Higher Education in London. Paul has been working with children, young people and families for twenty years as well as having four children of his own. Paul was a field worker for Scripture Union for 10 years before working as a Charity Director, Local Authority Training Manager and then University Lecturer in Children’s Services.

Dave Gidney

Dave is a father of three, and Grandad to three more. He job shares Children’s Minister of Knowle Parish Church with his wife, while he is also course director for Future Builders, an apprenticeship style degree programme in training children's workers. Further, he is author of Children in the Heart of God and The Santa Claus Principle. If that was not enough, he is also Old Testament lecturer at Springdale Bible College in Birmingham.

James Hamilton
As the director of Relive Resources, James tours the UK and abroad, working in schools, churches and at children’s ministry events and conferences. Bob Hartman

Bob has been a professional storyteller for over 20 years. He was a storyteller in residence for The Pittsburgh Children’s Museum and has also travelled widely, telling stories at the Edinburgh International Book Festival, The Somerset Festival (Australia), Expo 2005 (Japan), Spring Harvest and The Greenbelt Festival (England), Beyond Words (Jordan and Dubai), just to name a few. Bob is also the author of over fifty books for children, including the best-selling ‘Lion Storyteller Bible’. Ruth Hassall

For the last seven years Ruth has worked for CPAS, training leaders of all ages in leadership development, as well as writing on various issues around working with children and young people. In October of this year she left CPAS to go back into parish ministry and is now part of the staff team at St John’s Harborne, where she is primarily responsible for encouraging and developing the discipleship of children, young people and adults.


Doug Horley

Doug, aka Duggie Dug Dug, has a national and international ministry working with children and families and is a writer and song writer. Ishmael
Ish has been involved in Christian music since 1970. He has written and recorded over 400 songs, released around 40 albums and written many books. As well as being the ‘Missioner Deacon’ at Chichester Cathedral he still enjoys travelling and leading praise parties, family services and training days in churches. In 2008 Ish was diagnosed with leukaemia and is now in remission.

Nick Jackson

Catherine Kyte

Piers Lane

Piers works at Cliff College where he oversees the outreach programme and lectures in evangelism and children’s work. He oversees the annual Festival which has a growing children’s programme. Jane Leadbetter
Jane is a member of the BRF Messy Church Team. She has worked as a primary school teacher and was Children’s Work Adviser in the Diocese of Liverpool for twelve years. She coordinates L19: Messy Church and runs a Beaver Scout Colony and St Mary’s Grassendale Tots Team. She is passionate about helping all ages worship together. Margaret Lilley

Margaret leads the Scripture Union South West Regional Team of staff and volunteers. She is very passionate to see children engaging with the Bible and producing material to help them. Mark Lloydbottom

Judith Twani

Judith is a qualified teacher who now works part time as a Local Authority Early Years Consultant. She has had a rich and varied career in both the UK and South Africa. Barbara has been involved in children’s ministry for more than 30 years. Amy Walker

Amy and Pete Oakley are Pulse Children's and Youth Ministries, an interdenominational ministry that exists to “Enlarge and Equip God’s Kingdom”. Angeline White
