What's in the Bible? (Phil Vischer, Jellyfish Labs)
A new series from the creator of the popular Veggietales characters.
At the moment the first six DVDs (12 episodes) plus a Christmas DVD are available in the UK.
Sue says: Although aimed primarily at children, these DVDs will be enjoyed by, and have much to teach, young teens and adults too. They can be used in children's groups, all age settings and by families at home. My only complaint is that Phil didn't find an English friend to provide the voices for the English puppet characters!

My First Bible Library (Wonder Kids) RRP 29.99
105 Bible stories. Each story is included in one of 10 illustrated 32-page books, is on one of 10 hour-long DVDs and has an associated song on the DVD.
The DVDs have narration of all the stories - character voices include Max Lucado, Rebecca St James and Steve Green - with illustrations taken from the books and the story text appearing on screen. Each story lasts 3 or 4 minutes.
There is also a Bible story song for each story, including some familiar classics - Jesus Loves Me, This Little Light of Mine, Deep and Wide, Noah’s Arky, Arky and many more. Ideal for ages 3-8.
Sue says: If you're looking for a DVD telling of a Bible story for your small group then this is the most comprehensive set I've seen (you should have a public performance licence to show them in church though). Finding the stories isn't intuitive - you will have to check the index on DVD box (eg. the parable of the wise and foolish builders is on the Daniel DVD!) |
