KidZone

KidZone presents Bible stories in a fun and active way. It recognises that the 5s-9+ age group have a voracious appetite for facts and love to hear stories – both from real life and from the Bible.

Generally children’s groups run through to the age of 11. But many churches struggle to keep their 10-year-olds, who think they have become ‘too old for Sunday school’, and so Y-Zone introduces a new style of material for the over 9s. However, if you have a small group that covers all ages from 5 to 11, KidZone is an appropriate resource.

To use KidZone you will need a set of activity materials for each child, possibly a craft resource for each child (but at least one for the group), a leader’s guide and the CD Resource Pack.

09W303 The KidZone Blue activity sheets (one set per child in the 5s-7+ age group) comprise four pages per session which are in full colour. They have puzzles, games, pictures to colour, memory verse reminders, mazes, the Bible story for each session and other activities to help convey the truth of the Bible to children who have limited reading and writing skills.

09W403 The KidZone Gold activity sheets (one set per child in the 7s-9+ age group) comprise four pages per session which are in full colour. They have puzzles, games, memory verse reminders, mazes, the Bible story for each session and other pencil activities to help convey the truth of the Bible to children who have growing reading and writing skills.

09W305 Each session has an associated craft, in the KidZone Craft books, which will be used in the session. To include the craft activity you will need one book per child in the 5s-9+ age group. If you have a short session time you may choose to omit the craft, but you should purchase one craft book for the group as they also include illustrations for stories and discussions.

Please note that neither KidZone Blue and KidZone Gold activity sheets nor KidZone Craft books show the suggested age range of the children who should receive them. This gives you the flexibility to give the materials to children outside the range.

09W902 The CD Resource Pack which accompanies the sessions has songs and stories and other items on the audio CD. The CD-Rom has the words of the songs and other helpful elements, including memory verses, that can be printed or projected. It also contains photocopiable letters to parents and the pastor, keeping them in touch with what you are teaching and all-age service outlines that summarise each theme and give the children an opportunity to be involved.
