Who Jesus is / God in our lives
Sessions 1-6: Who Jesus Is
Everything that Jesus said and did was important and has been included in the bible for our instruction and to reveal Jesus as Gods Son, the image of the invisible Father. These sessions pick out some key events from Jesus’ life. Most young children readily accept stories about Jesus on the same level as stories about Bob the Builder. Our prayerful aim through stories, drama, dance, songs rhymes is to help children move on to a simple belief in the reality of Jesus as God. The activities are designed to take them from the known and familiar routines of their lives to show Jesus as God with amazing power, yet caring for us deeply with strong and tender love.
Session 1: Tell Me About Jesus (Luke 2:40,52 Matthew 13:55-56a) Session 2: Jesus Knows What’s Right (Luke 2:42-52) Session 3: Jesus Cares (John 5: 1-15) Session 4: Follow Me! (Matthew 9:9-13) Session 5: Power-Jesus (Mark 4:35-41) Session 6: Jesus Is God (John 6: 1-14)
Sessions 7-12: God in our Lives
Focus on God in the lives of those involved in building the church. Those people had to learn new ideas about God, hoe salvation was available for everyone and experience the cost involved in the spread of the gospel. They new the presence of God in their everyday lives, and in miraculous answers to prayer. In similar ways children explore new ideas about God though play and learning. Through prayer and praise they experience his presence in their ordinary days, and begin to build and understanding of what it means to belong to the worldwide family of God.
