Learning from Jesus – Gospel stories A parable is described as ‘an earthly story with a heavenly meaning’; n other words, a vivid picture of spiritual truth. These six sessions explore Jesus’ description of God, his love and his kingdom. Using everyday activities (such as farming and vineyard-tending), characters (thieves, the hated Samaritans) and relationships (fathers, sons, inheritance), Christ planted memorable insights into the minds of his hearers.
Sessions: Neighbours (Mark 12:28-44) Groundforce (Matthew 13:3-23) The Money Programme (Matthew 18:21-35) The Talent Show (Matthew 25:14-30) The Samaritans (Luke 10:30-37) Last of the Summer Wine (John 15:1-17)
